What is Rahu Kaal?
Rahu Kaal is an inauspicious ~90-minute window each day, traditionally avoided for starting new or auspicious activities. It is one of eight equal parts of the daytime (sunrise to sunset), assigned by weekday — so its clock time depends on Mangaluru’s sunrise and sunset, and shifts slightly each day.
Computed for Mangaluru (12.92, 74.86, Asia/Kolkata) from local sunrise/sunset, validated against standard Vedic almanacs.
